The musical takes inspiration both from the illustrated book “Shrek” by the American writer William Steig (1990) and the cartoon by DreamWorks (2001).

Shrek  (IS / ARE) ........................... a (green ogre / ogre green ) ........................... and lives in (HIS / HER) ........................... swamp. One day many fairytale characters go to live there because they are exhiled by the cruel  Lord Farquaad. Farquaad must marry a princess to become king and accepts to send Shrek and the talking Donkey to rescue (HIS / HER) ........................... future bride Fiona, locked in a castle tower guarded by lava and a dragon. After many adventures they save Fiona from the dragon. On the way to Lord Farquaad’S castle (IS / HAS / GS ) ........................... Shrek and Fiona fall in love. One night Donkey discovers Fiona turns into an ogre at night, but Shrek does not know. Shrek brings Fiona to Lord Farquaad, but then interrupts the wedding before Farquaad can kiss Fiona. He tells her that Farquaad is not (HIS / HER) ........................... true love and wants to marry her only to become king. The sun sets and  Fiona turns into an ogre in front of everyone in the church. Shrek  (IS / ARE) ........................... very happy. Instead Farquaad (IS / ARE) ........................... furious...What will happen?
